 A PIECE OF MY STORY

What opinions or ideas are you guided by?

Drawing, painting and design have always been an important part of my life. But there was a moment in which I lost faith in myself. A negative comment during my teenage years led to the fact that I no longer allowed myself to be interested in art. I have let myself be convinced that I am untalented and should give up immediately. Art was nothing I could and should do. I allowed this person to influence my decisions with his opinion.

The birth of my two sons, the art therapy training and many positive and encouraging encounters with other people have led me to regain access to my passion. Today I give myself permission to paint and draw. I've learned that it's an important part of who I am. I no longer believe in the “talent concept”, but in deep-seated interests and enthusiasm that make up our personality. And I believe that skills can be learned.

I'm applying new techniques, and trying new things!

I attended a four-day painting course with Gaby Dotter and was able to learn a lot from her. She is an amazing artist and has a great technique. I created these two paintings during the course. Such powerful portraits. I'm very happy with them..
